Library Director

The Slinger Community Library is seeking a qualified individual who is passionate about providing and managing library services in a small but growing community.  Slinger, Wisconsin is located in Washington County surrounded by the Kettle Moraine.  It is a vibrant community with many amenities including excellent schools, parks, entertainment and a family-friendly atmosphere.  The community has a population of 5,559 with a service population of 12,924.

Applicants must have a Grade 2 certification or be eligible for such certification.  The requirements are defined in the Certification Manual for Wisconsin Public Library Directors: www.dpi.wi.gov/pld/certification

Applicants with an MLS and management experience are preferred; however, equivalent experience will be considered.

The starting salary range for this full-time, 40/hour/week position is $43,000-$54,000, commensurate with experience.  The position may require some nights and weekends.  A generous benefit package includes: health and dental insurance; sick leave; paid vacation; 10 paid holidays and one personal day annually; plus enrollment in the Wisconsin Retirement System.

Library Assistant II
Part Time (15 hours/week – Non-benefitted)

Duties will include: independently performing interlibrary loan tasks, which will include: requesting interlibrary loan materials, maintaining interlibrary loan computer files, providing statistics to the Library Director, unloading, checking in and routing daily deliveries, shelving materials, maintaining the collection and other duties as assigned. Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and high comfort level with technology required. Must be dependable, flexible with scheduling (including nights and weekends) and enjoy working with a diversity of customers. $10 starting pay. High school diploma or equivalent required. Library experience preferred. Open until filled.

Library Clerk
Part Time (15 hours/week – Non-benefitted)

Duties will include: checking-out and checking-in materials, collecting fines and making change, shelving and processing materials, providing public service and other duties as assigned. Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and high comfort level with technology required. Must be dependable, flexible with scheduling and enjoy working with people of all ages. High School diploma or equivalent required-Library experience preferred. The schedule for this position requires some day and evenings hours and a rotating Friday/Saturday shift. $10 starting pay. Open until filled.
